Formation and Corrosion Behavior of Nickel/Alumina Nanocomposites

Abstract: Ni nanopillars (Ni NPs) composite materials formation technology was presented. The morphological and structural properties of the composite material were investigated using scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction. The corrosion resistance of the nanocomposite materials has been studied by potentiodynamic polarization curves analysis. The composite represents the array of vertically ordered Ni NPs with the identical size in alumina matrix. XRD investigation indicates that Ni NP… Show more

“…When switching to the pulse mode P1, the grains grow for 1 s. Growth stops when the current is turned off. Then, when the current is switched on again, the growth of predominantly new grains begins [ 52 , 53 , 54 ]. The size of grains formed within 1 s ranges from 150 to 300 nm ( Figure 5 b).…”

“…All of them have a nanochannel structure with parallel to each other channels. However, among these materials, only nanostructured porous alumina is insoluble in organic solvents, resistant to high temperatures, and its geometric characteristics can be easily adjusted by the synthesis conditions changing [ 17 ]. However, only this template is considered as the most relevant for the structures based on NWs’ integration into silicon technologies in a microelectronic production [ 15 , 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 ].…”

“…[ 11–14 ] In particular, composition, shape, and surface coating of alloys dramatically influence their resistance to corrosion in body fluids [ 15 ] that can change from high durability to rapid degradation. [ 9,16,17 ]…”
