“…In order to search for the new class of materials, it has been found that solid solution of mixed metal oxides might be a potential candidate, having advantage of easy alloying due to ionic radius of same order [3,4]. Fe 2-x Cr x O 3 is one such compound series, which can be formed through the alloying of -Fe 2 O 3 and Cr 2 O 3 oxides [5,6]. The interesting points are that both -Fe 2 O 3 and Cr 2 O 3 stabilized into rhombohedral crystal structure with space group R3C [4,7] and both are antiferromagnetic insulator [8].…”

“…Indeed, the incorporation of Cr into ␣-FeOOH [1][2][3][4][5][6][7], ␥-FeOOH [5], ␣-Fe 2 O 3 [8][9][10] and Fe 3 O 4 [11,12] has been observed. * Corresponding author.…”

“…The substitution effect in -Fe 2 O 3 at Fe site influences the electrical, magnetic and other physical  in the scientific community as the dopant like Zn ions substituting for Fe 3+ in the corundum-related structure leads to formation of cationic and anionic vacancies [2][3][4][5][6]. The effect of substitution of Cr and Mn ions in GaFeO 3 manifests itself and can be delineated starting with suitable oxide precursors preferentially containing Cr (Mn) in the Ga or Fe site.…”

“…The effect of substitution of Cr and Mn ions in GaFeO 3 manifests itself and can be delineated starting with suitable oxide precursors preferentially containing Cr (Mn) in the Ga or Fe site. It is noteworthy that Cr (Mn) substitution in the octahedral Fe (1,2) site of GaFeO 3 has marked effects on the structural parameters and magnetic properties, while substitution in the octahedral Ga 2 site has marginal effects [2][3][4][5][6][7][8].…”
