“…Interdisciplinary surgical management of complex injuries is possible whenever required due to the predefined VAV requirements and accident-associated conditions requiring non-surgical treatment can be attended to during the acute treatment effectively and at short notice within an interdisciplinary clinical framework. These preconditions are important in terms of the acute treatment, since the literature reports a surgical indication in over 70% of all cases and completed treatment regularly requires multiple procedures and thus repeated stretches of time 2 , 3 .
