“…One of Vera's main projects in the latter part of her career was work on Callovian to Tithonian (Volgian) samples from the Tyumenskaya superdeep well (SDW-6) drilled in central West Siberia (Nikitenko et al 2002;Ilyina et al 2005). This major borehole, drilled close to the Arctic Circle, to the east of the Pur River and south of the Taz Estuary in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug continuously cored 200 m of Middle and Upper Jurassic [Callovian-Tithonian (Volgian)] strata (Ilyina et al 2005 , figs 1, 3). This is therefore an extremely important reference section on this oil-and gasrich region; it is close to the giant Urengoy gas field.…”
