The Palaeolithic rock engravings that are located along the Nalón river basin in Northern Spain (central area of Asturias) have been studied from various perspectives (morphology, depth, style, manual range), but no use-wear studies on the stone tools used to produce such engravings have ever been undertaken. This paper aims to explore a new approach to this type of incisions based on use-wear analysis of experimental lithic tools used to engrave limestone blocks and slabs. Our results show that the use-wear traces generated by engraving limestone are welldeveloped and can be defined with specific criteria. The principal objective of this study was to provide the first experimental reference collection of use-wear resulting from engraving limestone using flint and quartzite experimental tools to compare with the traces that appear on tools in the archaeological record in contexts with parietal and portable art and, more specifically, to add a new approach to the multidisciplinary study of the La Viña rock shelter.

Памятник пещерного искусства Абри-дю-Пуассон представляет собой скальный навес с рельефными и крашеными изображениями на своде Результаты полевых исследований скального навеса Абри-дю-Пуассон (Франция)Скальный навес Абри-дю-Пуассон является одним из уникальных памятников пещерного искусства Франко-Кантабрийской области, он известен, прежде всего, благодаря детализированному, реалистичному изображению лосося. В пещерном искусстве Западной Европы обнаружено крайне мало изображений рыб, а выполненных в технике барельефа, как лосось из Абри-дю-Пуассон, больше не существует. В последние годы на памятнике были сделаны открытия, позволяющие не только по-новому взглянуть на его материалы, но и получить представление о том, как выглядел свод скального навеса в эпоху ориньяк и граветт. В 2016-2018 гг. были проведены полевые работы, включая полное документирование всех элементов рельефа, связанных с искусственной обработкой потолка, с естественной деградацией скальной поверхности, также выполнено геоморфологическое исследование Абри-дю-Пуассон. Работа была проведена в рамках комплексного подхода, что позволило не просто сопоставить результаты, полученные при помощи различных методов, но и продемонстрировать процессы, происходившие на памятнике в эпоху палеолита, в динамике.Ключевые слова: пещерное искусство, фотограмметрия, трасология, Абри-дю-Пуассон, Дордонь, Франция. The rock shelter Abri du Poisson is one of the signifi cant sites of cave art in Franco-Cantabrian region. First of all it is well known by a very detailed and realistic image of salmon.There are not so many representations of fi sh in the cave art of Western Europe, there is no other examples of fi sh images made in bas-relief technique. However this rock shelter is interesting for other reasons too. Recently, new discoveries have been made at the site offering the possibility of certain revision, including chronological, of the available materials and the appearance of the plafond of the rock shelter in the Aurignacian and Gravettian. The fi eld works in 2016-2018 included complete documenting of every plafond feature of natural or artifi cial modifi cation and a geomorphologic analysis in Abri du Poisson. The works were realized through the multidisciplinary approach, which permits not only to compare the results obtained by different methods but to show the dynamics of processes that took place at the site in the Paleolithic.
