“…Unlike G. tropica DSM 19535 T , strains YIM D15 T and YIM J21 T did not contain PL5 as a major polar lipid. In addition, strains YIM D15 T and YIM J21 T could be distinguished from F. salinus YIM D17 T and G. tropica DSM 19535 T (Table 2) (Wang et al, 2012) are DPG, phosphatidylglycerol (PG), PE, GL and an unknown polar lipid (L). The fatty acid profiles also allowed the two strains of species of the genus Balneola to be distinguished from strains YIM D15 T and YIM J21 T ( Table 2).…”

“…Rhodothermus strains are thermophilic whereas strains of the genus Salinibacter are extreme halophiles. Recently three genera that are phylogenetically related to Rhodothermus and Salinibacter have been described and named Balneola (Urios et al, 2006), Gracilimonas (Choi et al, 2009) and Fodinibius (Wang et al, 2012). The former two genera, which were both isolated from seawater, do not exhibit any of the extreme features found in the species of the genera Rhodothermus and Salinibacter.…”

“…S4). Based on the polar lipid analysis, strain Gsoil 221 T shares similar major polar lipids, DPG and PE, with recently designated members of the family Chitinophagaceae (Wang et al, 2012(Wang et al, , 2013Lee et al, 2013;Leandro et al, 2013;Glaeser et al, 2013), while the presence of minor polar lipids PG and PME distinguishes strain Gsoil 221 T from the related neighbour genera of the family Chitinophagaceae. Strain Gsoil 221 T contained MK-7 as predominant quinone.…”

“…S2). Based on the polar lipid analysis, strain RP-2 T shares similar major polar lipids (DPG and PE) with the recently described species of the family Chitinophagaceae (Wang et al, 2012(Wang et al, , 2013Lee et al, 2013;Leandro et al, 2013;Glaeser et al, 2013). The major respiratory quinone was MK-7.…”
