“…Due to its contrast independence, ADC could be more advantageous over contrast‐enhanced MRI in differentiating between benign and malignant liver lesions . However, ADC alone may not be adequate for characterization of focal liver lesions . Indeed, previously the usefulness of concomitant use of multiple MRI metrics, including volumetric DWI and volumetric contrast‐enhanced MRI, has been demonstrated in predicting response to treatment and prognosis of patients with HCC, cholangiocarcinoma, and neuroendocrine liver metastasis …”

“…26 However, ADC alone may not be adequate for characterization of focal liver lesions. 34 Indeed, previously the usefulness of concomitant use of multiple MRI metrics, including volumetric DWI and volumetric contrast-enhanced MRI, has been demonstrated in predicting response to treatment and prognosis of patients with HCC, 10 cholangiocarcinoma, 35 and neuroendocrine liver metastasis. 26 In the present study, we used both volumetric contrast-enhanced MRI and volumetric analysis of ADC in distinguishing HCC, FNH, and HCA from each other.…”

“…Diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) has been widely applied in the liver . In the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI‐RADS) v. 2017, the presence of restricted diffusion was an ancillary feature favoring malignancy and the target appearance on DWI was characteristic of category LR‐M (probable or definite malignancy, not specific for HCC, eg, IMCC)…”
