Abstract:Abstract. In this investigation, the authors intend to study the dynamic instability (flutter) of variable stiffness composite laminates (VSCLs) in the presence of supersonic flow. In the type of VSCL considered here, plies have curvilinear fibres and, consequently, the stiffness is variable in a macroscopic view. The plates considered are rectangular. In each ply, a reference fibre path, represented by a function of horizontal coordinate x, is defined. The reference fibre path orientation changes linearly fro… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
