Fluorescent Sensor Based on Magnetic Separation and Strand Displacement Amplification for the Sensitive Detection of Ochratoxin A

Abstract: Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a common mycotoxin, and it is a significant threat to human health throughout the food chain. In this study, a sensitive and specific fluorescent sensor based on magnetic separation technology combined with chain displacement amplification was developed for fast and easy detection of OTA in food. The designed strand displacement amplification can improve the sensitivity for the detection, and the magnetic nanomaterials can provide a large surface area, thus enhancing the capture efficienc… Show more

“…Enzyme-free catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) reaction or enzyme-driven oligonucleotides cycling seems to be a promising technique to achieve signal amplification (Chen, Zhang et al, 2021;Wu et al, 2023;Zhang, Wang et al, 2020;Zhao et al, 2023). In the work of Chen et al, the immunocomplexes of OTA antigen-MNPs/mAb-barcode DNA-AuNPs can be dissociated by the addition of dithiothreitol; con-sequently, the disassembled barcode DNAs triggered the CHA reaction, thereby substantially enhancing the signal amplification (Figure 6e) (Chen et al, 2020).…”
