Fluorescent‐functionalized graphene oxide for selective labeling of tumor cells

Abstract: Fluorescence probe has attracted significant attention for biomedical imaging in recent years due to their high resolution at the cellular level. Organic‐based fluorescent probes with high quantum yield are widely applied in bioimaging, but most of them suffer from a serious obstacle called aggregation‐caused quenching in cellular systems. New fluorophore has been designed through functionalization of graphene oxide which emphatically exhibits aggregation‐induced emission along with pH‐responsive nanoprobe. Si… Show more

After 1 day of culture, the growth media in the wells was replaced with the fresh DMEM containing the samples in the concentrations range of 10−100 μg/mL and were incubated for 1, 2, and 3 days.…”

“…Fluorescent sensors are attractive and useful tools for chemical sensing due to their low cost, high sensitivity, rapid response, and technical simplicity. In recent decades, a large number of excellent fluorescent sensor systems have been developed by introducing fluorophore moieties into the main building block. , A good fluorophore should have good luminescent and satisfactory photophysical properties. To date, scientists have synthesized and utilized some known chromophores or their derivatives such as fluorescein, borro-dipyrromethene (BODIPY), tetraphenylethylene, rhodamine, and fluorescent polymers like polythiophene for sensing applications. ,,, As a fluorogenic unit, pyrene is one of the most useful fluorescence probes due to its expanded π electron delocalization, excellent UV–vis absorption and fluorescence properties, high quantum yield, and greater ability to form excimers.…”
