Abstract. The effects of y-cyclodextrin and bovine serum albumin as mobile phase additives on fluorescence intensity and retention of dansyl amino acids (Dns-AAs) have been examined in microcolumn liquid chromatography. Polymercoated mixed-functional silica packings were employed for the separation column. The concentrations of the additives, acetonitrile, and buffer affected the signal intensity and retention of DNS-AAs. The use of the mobile phase additives improved the detection limits by a factor of as much as 7.4. o 1995 John Wilcy & Sons, Inc.
