Abstract:The design of stimulus-responsive materials with a reversible colorimetric ability is of great value in the applications of sensors, anticounterfeiting, displays, and photodetection. In this article, the chromatic behavior of fluorescein-substituted polydiacetylene (FPDA) was researched in aqueous and solid films. The strong hydrogen bonding and aromatic interactions of the headgroup in FPDA led to an intriguing reversible thermochromism with a green-to-red color transition from 30 to 100 °C in solution and a … Show more
“…Fluorescein-substituted diacetylenes (FDAs) were prepared by our group, and the above PDA materials can be used for the detection of 980 nm near-infrared (NIR) light based on the photothermal effect. 48 Meanwhile, with the same mechanism, the maleic acid-capped diacetylene monomer (PCDA-EDMA) synthesized by Wu also shows a reversible color change with the stimuli of 808 nm NIR (Fig. 44).…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
