Fluorarrojadite-(BaNa), BaNa4CaFe13Al(PO4)11(PO3OH)F2, a new member of the arrojadite group from Gemerská Poloma, Slovakia

Abstract: The new mineral fluorarrojadite-(BaNa), ideally BaNa4CaFe13Al(PO4)11(PO3OH)F2 was found on the dump of Elisabeth adit near Gemerská Poloma, Slovakia. It occurs in hydrothermal quartz veins intersecting highly fractionated, topaz–zinnwaldite S-type leucogranite. Fluorarrojadite-(BaNa) is associated with fluorapatite, ‘fluordickinsonite-(BaNa)’, triplite, viitaniemiite and minor amounts of other minerals. It forms fine-grained irregular aggregates up to 4 cm x 2 cm, which consist of individual anhedral grains up… Show more

“…V týchto hydrotermálnych kremeňových žilách je relatívne častý fluorit, albit, chlority, rutil, minerály turmalínovej skupiny, karbonáty (siderit, dolomit, kalcit, rodochrozit), sulfidy (najmä sfalerit, arzenopyrit a pyrit), pestrá asociáciia Bi a Pb-Sb sulfosolí, minerály tetraedritovej skupiny, fluórapatit, polykras-(Y) až uranopolykras a vzácne aj beryl (Uher et al 2009;Števko et al 2015, 2018Števko, nepublikované údaje). V kremeňových žilách, ktoré prerážajú P-obohatené topás-cinvalditové leukogranity, bola zistená aj zaujímavá asociácia fosfátov reprezentovaná fluórapatitom, triplitom, viitaniemiitom a novým minerálom, fluórarrojaditom-(BaNa) (Števko et al 2015, 2018).…”
