“…The fuel-gas flow rate, the location of gas burners, relative capacities of floor to sidewall burners, shape of the firebox, the coil configuration and geometry, and the firing pattern altogether determine the heat flux profile along the coil which is obtained from an iterative computation between the two (process and fire) sides of the furnace. We usually calculate it (Ghashghaee and Karimzadeh, 2007;Karimzadeh et al, 2009) through a detailed analysis of both convective and radiative heat transfer within the firebox via the zonal method of Hottel. In this program, however, we adopted another policy to accelerate the computations.…”
