Florpyrauxifen-Benzyl Selectivity to Rice

Abstract: Florpyrauxifen-benzyl (FPB) is a new class of auxinic herbicide developed for selective weed control in rice. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of environmental conditions, P450 inhibitors, rice cultivar response, and gene expression on FPB selectivity in rice. Field experiments established in a randomized block design showed that rice plant injury due to two FPB rates (30 and 60 g ai ha−1) was affected by planting time and rice stage at herbicide application. The injury was higher at the earliest planti… Show more

“…The development and application of florpyrauxifen-benzyl filled the gap after barnyardgrass evolved resistance to metamifop, bispyribac-sodium, quinclorac, and penoxsulam in China [14,17,[26][27][28]. Similar to quinclorac, florpyrauxifen-benzyl is a synthetic auxin herbicide that controls many dicotyledonous weeds and the troublesome monocotyledonous weed, barnyardgrass [29,[34][35][36]. This differs from other auxin herbicides that can only control dicotyledonous weeds [30].…”

“…Florpyrauxifen‐benzyl (FPB) is a novel arylpicolinate systemic herbicide being developed to control or suppress most herbicide‐resistant biotype weeds in rice (Miller & Norsworthy, 2018; Velásquez et al, 2021). Flopyrauxifen‐benzyl is also known as Rinskor™ is used as a herbicide for rice and has a number of additional emerging applications for controlling terrestrial weeds (United States Environmental Protection Agency, 2017; Richardson et al, 2016).…”
