“…Data on leaf venation of Ocotea species can also be found in treatments of local floras or florulas, being usually restricted to information on the venation pattern of secondary veins and the "number of pairs of secondaries". Concerning the species treated here, such information has been recorded by Quinet and Andreata (2002), for collections of Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro state, Baitello and Marcovino (2003), for collections of São Paulo state, Assis et al (2005), for collections of Minas Gerais state, Barbosa et al (2012), for collections of Santa Teresa, Esp ırito Santo, Santos and Alves (2012), for collections of Pernambuco state, Brotto et al (2009Brotto et al ( , 2013, for collections of Paran a state, Rohwer (2014), for the Flora of Cuba, Baitello and Quinet (2015), for specimens of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Esp ırito Santo states, and Souza and Affonso (2017), for specimens of the Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar -N ucleo Curucutu, São Paulo state. From those works, it is possible to verify how constant these features are across a wider geographical range for each species, involving different populations and/or environments.…”
