Flexible phonics: a complementary ‘next generation’ approach for teaching early reading

Abstract: We describe the rationale for‐ and content of‐ a freely available, novel, theoretically driven and evidence‐based approach to improving the teaching of word reading in reception classrooms called ‘Flexible Phonics’.
