Flexible Framework for Real-Time Embedded Systems Based on Mobile Cloud Computing Paradigm

Abstract: The development of applications as well as the services for mobile systems faces a varied range of devices with very heterogeneous capabilities whose response times are difficult to predict. The research described in this work aims to respond to this issue by developing a computational model that formalizes the problem and that defines adjusting computing methods. The described proposal combines imprecise computing strategies with cloud computing paradigms in order to provide flexible implementation frameworks… Show more

“…This method is based on experience and previous research work regarding citizens' traceability and the distributed systems made by this research group [53,54], which improve the current track-and-trace system proposals for the acquisition of the locations of citizens in heterogeneous and uncontrolled environments, both indoors and outdoors, to facilitate the transparent incorporation of citizens into the system. For acquisition of user's locations, we will use RFID communication technology.…”

“…In addition, more communication and processing capabilities are included on new devices embedded anywhere. Therefore, based on our previous experience with these technologies [53] and other previous research works [54], the working hypothesis of this research is that this type of solution can be used to trace users with and without movement disabilities when they move around the city and to check whether they are accessible.…”

“…In this point, other strategies and policies focused on the application could be addressed, mainly by adapting the successful results from previous and future research. As a result of our previous research on distributed and mobile systems, a proposal combining imprecise computing strategies with cloud computing is introduced in [59], and it can be used for the scheduler component.…”

“…On the one hand, cloud computing offers networking ubiquity, lower storage costs and progressive improvements in computing software and mobile computing [4]. On the other hand, mobile devices enable access to a wide range of applications and services [5,6]. The proliferation of systems and the high penetration rate of mobile devices in the hands of citizens provides users an opportunity to conduct a citizen-centric digital revolution in many aspects of daily life.…”
