Flexible and robust strategies for waste management in Sweden

Abstract: Treatment of solid waste continues to be on the political agenda. Waste disposal issues are often viewed from an environmental perspective, but economic and social aspects also need to be considered when deciding on waste strategies and policy instruments. The aim of this paper is to suggest flexible and robust strategies for waste management in Sweden, and to discuss different policy instruments. “…The resultant trends are similar to results reported for several European case studies (10)(11)(12)(13)(14). While this study provides a quantitative and systematic basis for evaluating cost, diversion, and GHE objectives for SWM choices and their tradeoffs, specific decisions must be made as to the direction of future SWM.…”

“…Šios srities publikacijos dažnos įvairaus statuso mokslo leidiniuose, šiais klausimais diskutuojama įvairiausiuose pasaulio kraštuose organizuojamose konferencijose. Komunalinių atliekų tvarkymas nagrinėtas įvairiais aspektais: atliekų tvarkymo sistemų turinys ir funkcijos, įvairios sistemų modifikacijos ir jų ypatybės, veikimo terpė, atliekų tvarkymo sprendimų vertinimo metodai ir modeliai (Žičkienė, Ruškus 2001;Klang et al 2003;Leonavičius 2003;Morrissey, Browne 2004;Husaini et al 2007;Hung et al 2007;Finnveden et al 2007). Vis dėlto pastarojo dešimtmečio mokslinės literatū-ros analizė leidžia teigti, kad stokojama tyrimų, kuriuose atliekų tvarkymas būtų nagrinėjamas sisteminiu požiūriu, šias sudėtingas sistemas struktūrizuojant, pagal sistemų teorijos reikalavimus nagrinėjant jų elementus, elementų tarpusavio ryšius ir sąsajas su aplinka.…”
