Flavours in global Klebanov-Witten background

Abstract: Abstract:We probe flavour branes in the Klebanov-Witten background in global coordinates. We show that supersymmetric probes correspond to massless flavours and analyse their spectrum of fluctuations. Our studies suggest that the mesons are dissociated by the Casimir energy. The spectrum is equidistant, with a ground state given by the conformal dimension of the operator dual to the fluctuations. We show that the equidistant structure of the spectrum arises from the addition of the angular momenta of the funda… Show more

“…In the context of AdS/CFT, comparisons between the counting of a class of local gaugeinvariant operators and the spectrum of brane fluctuations was initiated in [18,19,20]. These papers considered the simplest quiver gauge theory, namely N = 4 SYM, and the additional fundamental matter corresponds to the addition of 7-branes in the dual AdS 5 ×S 5 background.…”

“…The directed edges correspond to bi-fundamental matter fields, which transform according to the anti-fundamental representation of the gauge group corresponding to the starting node and the fundamental of the ending node. Also of interest in AdS/CFT are gauge theories where some of the matter fields are in fundamental representations, rather than bi-fundamentals, see for example [18,19,20,21,22]. These theories can be associated to directed graphs, where we distinguish two types of nodes: gauge nodes and global symmetry nodes.…”

“…In the context of AdS/CFT, adding matter to N = 4 SYM introduces flavour symmetries [30][31][32][33][34]. Typically, the added matter transforms in fundamental and anti-fundamental representations of these flavour symmetries.…”
