Flavonóides de quatro espécies de Paepalanthus Ruhl. (Eriocaulaceae)

Abstract: Recebido em 25-05-92. Aceito em 10-11-93. RESUMO ABSTRACT -(Flavonoids of capitulla of four species of Paepalanthus Ruhl. (Eriocaulaceae). Flavonoids of four species of Paepalanthus (P. bifrons, P. hila ire i, P. planifolius e P. robustus) were isolated and identified. Three species presentd 6-oxygenated flavonols, a characteristic that is also known in Eriocaulon. However, P. hilairei contains f1avones , a character of Leiothrix and Syngonanthus. These preliminary results reveal a chemical heterogeneity of … Show more

“…From those data, the presence of different classes of flavonoids clearly distinguished Leiothrix Ruhland (= flavones) from Eriocaulon (= flavonols). Mayworm and Salatino (1993) investigated four species of Paepalanthus and found mainly 6-oxygenated flavonols (beyond flavones) in P. hilairei Koern. [= Actinocephalus bongardii (A Ð St.…”

“…A study by Mayworm and Salatino (1993) isolated flavonoids 2 , 10 – 15 from capitula of Paepalanthus species. Methanolic extracts of Paepalanthus bifrons , P. hilairei , P. planifolius , and P. robustus were submitted to preparative chromatography and the flavonoids were purified in a Sephadex LH-20 column [ 32 ].…”

“…Other classes of secondary metabolites, most importantly flavonoids (Woodland, 1997), have been more frequently used for comparisons at lower hierarchic lev-Eriocaulaceae derives from the works of Bate- Smith and Harborne (1969) on six species of Eriocaulon, Dokkedal and Salatino (1992) on six species of Leiothrix, Mayworm and Salatino (1993) on four species of Paepalanthus and Ricci et al (1996) on 22 species of Syngonanthus. Figure 1 shows some examples of flavonoid aglycones found in Eriocaulaceae and the genera and some infrageneric categories in which the structural types predominate.…”
