Abstract:BACKGROUND: Flaxseed and soybean are an important source of lignans and flavonoids. Previously, the metabolism of isoflavones and lignans from soybean and flaxseed extracts by the microbiota of adult individuals (n = 14) and infants (n = 23) was analyzed.
