Five genes from chromosomal band 8p22 are significantly down‐regulated in ovarian carcinoma

Abstract: We report on the pharmacological, behavioral, and neurochemical characterization of a novel dual norepinephrine (NE)/dopamine (DA) transporter inhibitor EB‐1020 (1R,5S)‐1‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐3‐azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane HCl). EB‐1020 preferentially inhibited monoamine reuptake in cloned cell lines transfected with human transporters with IC50 values of 6 and 38, respectively, for NE and DA transporters. In microdialysis studies, EB‐1020 markedly increased NE, and DA concentrations levels in rat prefrontal cortex in… Show more

“…1b). In agreement with our results, low expression of ADP-ribosylation factor PSD3 has previously been linked with poor prognosis in ovarian carcinomas [33]. Interestingly elevated expression of LPL is a marker of poor prognosis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia conflicting with the present result for breasts cancer [34].…”

“…Our recent study suggested that the reduction of MTUS1 expression may be associated with advanced oral tongue SCC [15]. The reduced expression of MTUS1 has also been observed in colon cancer, ovarian cancer and pancreatic cancer [14,16,17]. In this study, our expressional and sequence analyses on MTUS1 gene provide additional evidences to support that MTUS1 may be a tumor suppressor for HNSCC.…”

“…14 In the current analysis of a larger cohort, we observed that patients who had tumors with TUSC3 promoter methylation had significantly shorter progression-free and overall survival rates, with a median progression-free survival of 11.1 months in the methylated group versus 24.6 months in the unmethylated group (Fig. 1G).…”

“…Expression was relatively quantified using TaqMan probes specific for TUSC3 Hs00185147_m1 and b2- microglobulin Hs99999907_m1 (Applied Biosystems), as described elsewhere, 14,30 and was expressed in relative ratio units. All PCR reactions were performed in at least 3 independent experiments, and RT-negative and template-negative controls were included.…”
