“…31 Furthermore, fish oil diet was shown to decrease ABL in hypercholesterolemic rats with ligature-induced periodontitis. 41 B. lactis administration significantly decreased CAL and ABL in an experimental periodontitis study. 19 Garcia et al 21 presented that local application of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in combination with SRP significantly decreased ABL in the furcation area of the mandibular first molars of rats.…”

“…The histomorphometric measurements revealed that hPL in the inter‐radicular alveolar bone was found to be significantly higher in thymol‐DDSA‐CHI when compared to thymol‐CHI. These findings would suggest that only unmodified thymol‐CHI exert their beneficial effects on periodontal tissue (Table 1), since the hPL that joints the tooth root, is a feature of bone loss attachment 30 . Additionally, CHI and DDSA‐CHI showed no significant differences when compared to thymol‐DDSA‐CHI.…”

“…A 2020 study investigated whether fish oil has the potential for periodontitis treatment in a hypercholesterolemic rat model with ligature-induced periodontitis (Antona et al, 2020). Fish oil prevents bone loss and promotes bone trabeculae, the substitution of saturated fat, periodontal bone support (PBS), and a percentage of lower bone volume (LBV) and total lower volume (TLV).…”
