First Report on Ovariohysterectomy for the Treatment of Pyometra in a Golden Retriever Dog in Mongolia

Abstract: A 4-year-old female Golden Retriever dog was brought to the Animal Health Centre with complaints of anorexia, purulent and blood-tinged discharge, and white foamy vomit. The dog was clinically diagnosed with pyometra and was successfully treated with ovariohysterectomy. Bacteriological testing revealed a bacterial infection with Proteus vulgaris that was resistant to antibiotics including vancomycin, novobiocin, and penicillin.
