First report of peanut rust caused by Puccinia arachidis on Arachis hypogaea in New Caledonia

Abstract: Symptomatic leaves with numerous rust sori on the underside were collected and examined. The urediniospores were mostly brown, ellipsoidal, finely echinulate, variable in size (20.6-26.2 × 19.3-21.8 µm), with brown walls (1.2-1.9 µm thick) and often with two equatorial germ pores (Figure 4).
