First record of pugheadedness in Crenicichla cf. missioneira Lucena & Kullander, 1992 (Cichliformes: Cichlidae)

Abstract

Anomalies in the skeleton of teleost fish generally begin in the embryonic and larval phase, in its process of differentiation and formation (Koumoundouros et al., 1997). Malformations in the skull bones, vertebrae, fins, among others, imply biological problems for fish concerning their viability and, consequently, they may cause economic problems, especially in aquaculture (Alarape et al., 2015;
