“…Two species -Pseudoceros bicolor Verrill, 1901 and Pericelis cata Marcus and Marcus, 1968, have been reported from Northern Rio de Janeiro to the region of Cabo Frio (23 o S), and another five -Enchiridium evelinae , Phrikoceros mopsus , Pseudobiceros evelinae , Thysanozoon brocchii (Risso, 1818) and Hoploplana divae Intending to contribute to the knowledge of the geographical distribution patterns of the Brazilian polycladids, the present study establishes the occurrence of Pericelis cata in the lower latitude of the Bahia State. Following the work of Bahia and Padula (2009), the occurrence of the species is now extended northward (from 23 o S to 13 o S). Therefore, the new finding adds to the inventory of the free-living polycladids from the northeastern coast, and to the biodiversity of the Brazilian Biotic Province as well.…”
