Abstract: Introduction/Objective Massive transfusion is often defined as transfusion of adults with 10 or more of packed red blood cells units in 24 hours period or transfusion of 4 or more units of packed red blood cells (PRBCs) in one hour when on-going need for more transfusion is foreseeable.
