Fire Resistance Performance of Steel–Polymer Prefabricated Composite Floors Using Standard Fire Tests

Abstract: In this study, the fire resistance performance of steel–polymer prefabricated composite floors, which have a sandwich-type structure, was assessed via standard fire tests and analyzed using finite element analysis. This form of analysis should consider two aspects, namely the thermal and structural fields, so as to simulate complicated material properties and large deformations. As previous studies have already conducted analysis in the thermal field, this study entailed only the structural analysis based on t… Show more

“…Numerous standard aerospace evaluations are routinely employed to gauge the ability of materials to withstand fires. [1][2][3][4] These evaluations replicate fire scenarios that materials might encounter and furnish an evaluation of their capacity to endure fires. 5 By using these tests, it is possible to evaluate material performance under different fire conditions and to determine their suitability for use as aircraft components.…”

“…The Abaqus/CAE 2017 program was used for the analysis and an 8-node solid element was selected. Because the purpose of the analysis was only to validate the small-scale shaking table tests, the mesh size was 60 mm, which was verified by various numerical studies [36][37][38][39]. The UHPC material properties were modeled by the guideline [40] and the Drucker Prager Hardening material model [41], as presented in Table 8.…”

“…Several aerospace standard tests are commonly used to assess the fire resistance of materials. [1][2][3] These tests simulate fire conditions to which materials may be exposed and provide a measurement of their fire performance. The ability of a kerosene burner to produce a controlled flame effectively, safely, and while meeting stringent requirements is referred to as fire performance.…”
