Fire protection systems using clay-gypsum plaster in agriculture

Abstract: The article substantiates using a modified binder based on clay-gypsum as the main component of dispersed reinforced and plasters mixtures. The rheological properties of such mixtures and the performance characteristics of plaster coatings have been studied. It is proved that the use of clay-gypsum as part of a modified dispersed reinforced binder contributes to the creation of favorable environmental conditions and the formation of a comfortable climate inside the agricultural premises, as well as increases t… Show more

“…The use of gypsum binders, their modifications, industrial gypsum-containing waste, and gypsum-containing mixes of natural origin, is one of the possibilities for increasing the environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of construction processes [1][2][3]. Gypsum is an environmentally friendly material, its dehydration temperature does not exceed 200°C, which definitely reduces the carbon footprint of the production of this material; therefore, products and plaster mixes based on gypsum are widely used in interior finishing systems [4][5][6].…”

“…Another important feature of gypsum, as well as of its derivatives and modifications, is the ability to release chemically bound moisture when heated. That is, non-combustible gypsum-containing facings and plaster coatings in the event of a fire perform the function of a fire-retardant barrier, and at temperatures exceeding 180 ° C, dihydrate gypsum dehydrates, water evaporates, lowering the temperature of the fire effect and forming a protective vapor barrier [7][8][9]. Clay gypsum (ganch, drywall) has been used as a building material in the Central Asian region and Transcaucasia since ancient times.…”
