Finite-time stability analysis and stabilization for linear discrete-time system with time-varying delay

Abstract: The problem of finite-time stability for linear discrete-time systems with time-varying delay is studied in this paper. In order to deal with the time delay, the original system is firstly transformed into two interconnected subsystems. By constructing a delay-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using a two-term approximation of the time-varying delay, sufficient conditions of finite-time stability are derived and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The derived stability condition… Show more

“…The existence of time delays may result in poor performance or even system instability. In practice, time delays are not constant but time-varying, which may cause the system to be more difficult to analyze [22], [23]. Meanwhile, if the existence of time delays is considered, the order-reduction methods proposed in [18]- [21] are not applicable.…”

“…A terminal guidance scenario [23][24][25][26][27] is the typical finite-time process, [28][29][30][31][32] which is presented in Figure 1. The distance between the missile and the target is indicated by r, l is the perpendicular deviation between the missile and the target, and velocities for the missile and the target are expressed as v M and v T , respectively.…”

The paper emphasizes this importance and is aimed to be the first attempt to carry the theory developed for commutativity of analog systems 6 into discrete-time domain.…”
