Abstract:We study a system of 2D trapped bosons in a quasiperiodic potential at finite temperature, via ab initio Path Integral Monte Carlo simulations. Alongside the superfluid, normal fluid and insulating phases, we demonstrate the existence of a Bose glass phase, which is found to be robust to thermal fluctuations, up to about half of the critical temperature of the non-interacting system. Local quantities in the trap are characterized by employing zonal estimators, allowing us to trace a phase diagram; we do so for… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
