Abstract: Finite Journal Bearing With Nonlinear Stiffness and Damping. Part 1: Improved Mathematical Models Two mathematical models for the nonlinear hydrodynamic film forces in a finite bearing are developed including a practical adaptation of the cavitation phenomenon.
