Finite-Element Calculation for Thermal Stresses of Concrete Lining in Deep Alluvium Freezing Shaft

Abstract: The inner and outer surfaces of concrete lining in deep alluvium freezing shaft are exposed to different temperatures, taking the hydration heat of cement for pyrogen. Additional stresses are therefore observed in concrete lining, owing to its marked temperature drop at early ages. This paper makes a numerical calculation of the temperature and the thermal stress on freezing shaft lining by finite element methods and engineering monitoring. The results reveal that the concrete of shaft lining has a high heat-r… Show more

“…In recent years, pinned connections have been adopted in building structures such as supports, beam-to-column joints and bracing system [1]. Li Jiawu [2] provided a systematic study on the design of pin connections and discussed the design details. With the rapid development of contact problem analysis methods and calculation software, the application of numerical solution methods such as finite element method in these types of connections have made significant progress [3].…”
