Finding Key Factors Affecting the Locations of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: a Simulation and ANOVA Approach

Abstract: In this study, we aim to find the key factors affecting the location of electric vehicle charging stations. We first developed a Non-deterministic Polynomial (NP) model that aims to minimize the total travel distance of cars. Second, we applied an agent-based simulation algorithm to determine the optimized location for charging stations. Finally, we conducted multi-simulation and statistical analysis of passenger priority, car mileage, electric vehicle distribution and passenger distribution using a one-way an… Show more

“…We will consider the situation that the data turning will be of high frequency and multi-dimensional, such as new method to identify the data features and new models to analyse the data with these features. For instance, ANOVA method, which was introduced by M. C. Tang, D. Gong, S. Liu, and X. Lu, can be applied to find the key factors that are affecting the temperature fluctuation in the process [20] and the method applied by P. He to simulate the process under the circumstance of uncertainty [21].…”

“…In the paper of He et al [157], a double-level programming model was suggested to find the best charging station placement by taking the driving range of EVs in to account. Tang et al [158]. identified important parameters that affect the optimal location of EV charging stations by establishing a non-deterministic polynomial model and applying a simulation algorithm Due to the critical role of infrastructure in supporting EV penetration, Zhou [159] has analyzed some important factors affecting the regulation of charging stations.…”
