Financial Performance Analysis of Development and Investment Banks: Topsis Method

Abstract

The banking sector plays an important role in promoting individual and national welfare with many transactions it performs. This study is aimed to analyze the financial performance of 11 Development and Investment Banks operating in Turkish banking sector between 2015-2021 with SV-TOPSIS method, one of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques. First of all, in relation to 11selected criteria, criteria weights were determined by SV (Statistical Variance) method and then analyzed by TOPSIS method. According to the results obtained from the proposed model, the banks included in the study showed performance fluctuations during the study period, but the best-performing banks were found to be İller Bankası (Bank of Provinces) and Diler Investment Bank, respectively.
