Show more

“…In order to analyse breeding and non-breeding ranges separately, we grouped records of each species into two data sets corresponding to seasonal categories established a priori on the basis of literature data and our own previous field experience. Most of the breeding records of P. sclateri (at least in its southernmost populations which form the bulk of records), P. dinelliana, P. citreola and P. flaviventris occurred between November and February; while breeding of P. acutipennis occurs later, between December and March (Chesser, 1997;de la Peña, 1987;Di Giácomo, 2005;ffrench, 2012;Hayes, 1995;Herzog et al, 2016;Jordan, 2018;Navas, 2002;Pagano et al, 2012;Roesler, 2009). Therefore, the 'breeding season' category of P. sclateri, P. dinelliana, P. flaviventris and P. citreola included records from November to February; and the 'non-breeding season' category contained records from May to August.…”
