Once an image has been processed by, for example, a robot machine, for the purpose of, for example, features extraction or meaningful information retrieval, has a secure scheme been applied to preserve security and privacy of such information before sending it to another processing party? A huge number of image-related Internet of Things (IoT) applications face such an issue. But what are applied and potentially being applied image processing techniques that have contributed to enhance the security and privacy of IoT applications? There are numerous IoT applications that utilize image processing techniques in this direction. This article aims to survey and review a number of recently published papers and research studies that encompass proposed methods in which image processing techniques are applied to enhance the security, privacy, and safety of IoT applications. It also aims to help interested researchers in related fields have insights on what the role of image processing in enhancing the security of IoT applications is and what those techniques applied to enhance the security of IoT applications are. A comprehensive framework has been graphically extracted to give readers in the field of IoT security a map with the suitable image processing techniques that serve better to enhancing IoT applications in terms of security and privacy.INDEX TERMS Image processing, Internet of Things (IoT), secure IoT applications, secure image-related IoT applications, energy IoT.

Do Immersive Displays Influence Exhibition Attendees’ Satisfaction?: A Stimulus-Organism-Response Approach

One of the fastest-growing trends in the exhibition industry is the utilization of immersive technology displays which provide exhibition attendees with enhanced interactive and dynamic experiences. However, little is known about the relationship between immersive technology displays and exhibition attendees’ satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the relationship between exhibitors’ immersive displays and exhibition attendees’ satisfaction in relation to the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. Additionally, the study categorized immersive displays and compared them with exhibition attendees’ socio-demographics. An online questionnaire survey was used for data collection, and a series of statistical analyses were carried out. The results revealed that 75% of respondents reported positive experiences with immersive displays, and some attendees were more satisfied with some of the immersive displays. Implications of the study are discussed.

Social distancing policies during the COVID-19 period have opened a space for interventions in the use of digital technology that was previously rejected by the public. Currently, most of the community activities have been carried out online, including those related to education, such as hosting virtual exhibitions with an educational purpose. Virtual exhibitions (VE) are online exhibitions that display information on specific topics. However, to the best of our knowledge, research on VE in the educational context is still lacking. This study aims to identify the variables that affect users' intentions to attend the virtual exhibition frequently. The channel expansion theory, flow theory, technology acceptance model, and expectation confirmation theory serve as the foundation for the research model that is constructed. The model was tested using data from 321 respondents who had visited VE, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the aid of the SmartPLS application version 3.3.3. The findings show that 11 factors significantly influence the intention to continue using VE, while the other 2 factors have no significant influence. Thus, perceived usefulness has a significant effect on satisfaction and continued use intention to use VE, but not on perceived enjoyment. Furthermore, the perceived ease of use of VE has a significant impact on perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. However, media richness does not significantly affect perceived enjoyment. It's just that media richness influences perceived ease of use significantly. Confirmation also has a significant impact on perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and satisfaction. Perceived enjoyment has a significant effect on satisfaction and continued use intention, and satisfaction has a significant effect on continued use intention to use VE. The findings are useful for VE providers and developers in developing a transformation strategy to increase the intention to use VE in every educational exhibition.
