Field Testing of a Mixed Potential IoT Sensor Platform for Methane Quantification

Sleight Halley,
Kannan Ramaiyan,
James Smith
et al.

Abstract: Emissions of CH4 from natural gas infrastructure must be addressed to mitigate its effect on global climate. With hundreds of thousands of miles of pipeline in the US used to transport natural gas, current methods of surveying for leaks are inadequate. Mixed potential sensors are a low-cost, field-deployable technology for remote and continuous monitoring of natural gas infrastructure. We demonstrate for the first time a field trial of a mixed potential sensor device coupled with machine learning and Internet-… Show more

“…9. [63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70] This shows that the atoms are represented by dotted structure to specify the directional derivatives for each case. The diagram shows the effectiveness of Vanderwall's 50% scheme for weak interactions and the dotted representation for directional output and set of orientations with aura with axis bounded box depth lines of MOH crystals shows the bounded box representation with 1 Å width to specify aura methodology for grouping of atoms in the molecules.…”

“…While these methods have benefits, they also have drawbacks that restrict their use in on-site detection, such as the requirement for pre-processing, lengthy analysis times, and high costs. In recent years, sensor technology has become an essential component of modern technology, especially with the help of artificial intelligence, 13 the Internet of Things, 14,15 and new nanomaterials, 16,17 which promise significant advances in several disciplines. 18 Among them, electrochemical sensing detection methods have gradually gained widespread attention due to their high sensitivity, portability, rapidity, and low-cost advantages.…”
