“…The perform degradation of PV modules installed in Dubai for more than two years was investigated [51]. The results suggest that mono-Si PV modules have the lo degradation rate of 0.07%/year, compared to CIGS (3.9%/year) and Poly-Si (2.9%/y An experimental study on six (6) different types of photovoltaic (PV) modules i Dubai climate over a two-year period has also been carried out [44]. The findings that both the highest yield and loss, due to temperature, are linked with bi monocrystalline modules while poly-Si modules generally showed higher yield du combination of temperature effect and soiling effect on the samples.…”

“…On one hand, the level of radiation received by 90° modules was lower than that in the other tilt angles, which resulted in low current and less overheating (Figs 2 and 3). And, on the other hand, the modules in this angle had better ventilation [6]. We estimated the average monthly soiling loss by assessing the tc-PR increase after each cleaning event using the calculated tc-PR.…”

“…Some research groups have studied how soiling affects the energy yield and efficiency of different types of modules in arid climates. One of these groups carried out 1-year monitoring of six types of PV technologies: monofacial and bifacial monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, glass-glass poly-Si, copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS), and cadmium telluride (CdTe) modules [6]. They installed the modules in a desert site, facing south, and with three different tilt angles (5°, 25°, and 90°), and found that the modules with 25° tilt had median monthly soiling losses between 2.76% and 6.15% and the modules with 5° tilt had losses between 5.09% and 8.15%.…”

“…Ventilation is an essential component in BIPV, especially in countries with hot climate conditions. A retrofit case study in Madrid [5] observed a nominal PV temperature difference of 12°C between naturally ventilated and non-ventilated crystalline silicon (c-Si) BIPV façades, which has resulted in an improvement of 2.5% of its efficiency. An experimentalnumerical study in Azmir found that the assessed the performance of a c-Si PV façade showed that natural ventilation increased the electricity output by about 2% yearly [6].…”

“…To determine the performance of different PV technologies in arid climates, researchers from the DEWA R&D Center carried out a study to assess six types of PV modules in three different tilt angles, 5°, 25°, and 90° [5]. The bifacial monocrystalline modules showed the highest normalized yield in comparison with conventional poly-Si and mono-Si modules, glass-glass poly-Si, and CIGS and CdTe thin-film modules.…”
