Field-dependent critical state of high-Tc superconducting strip simultaneously exposed to transport current and perpendicular magnetic field

Abstract: We present an exact analytical approach for arbitrary field-dependent critical state of high-Tc superconducting strip with transport current. The sheet current and flux-density profiles are derived by solving the integral equations, which agree with experiments quite well. For small transport current, the approximate explicit expressions of sheet current, flux-density and penetration depth for the Kim model are derived based on the mean value theorem for integration. We also extend the results to the field-dep… Show more

“…McDonald and Clem [24] derived the exact solutions for the flux penetration into a infinitely long superconducting film with such field-dependent critical current. Xue et al [25] extended it to the case where both a transport current and a magnetic field are applied to a superconducting film. In the case considered here, with such a field-dependence, the distribution of sheet current across the film typically has the shape illustrated in Fig.…”

“…In this review, the results of calculations in the Kim model [11] are presented also, but the sample was taken in the form of a disk. In cases where the current depends on the magnetic field, the distributions of induced currents were calculated for special (circular or linear) geometry only, in which current paths a priori were assumed to be either straight lines or circles [10,[12][13][14].…”

“…[1] In our previous studies, we measured distributions of DC transport current in coated conductor with various external magnetic fields [2] and noticed that the DC current distribution was redistributed by external fields [3][4][5][6][7]. Likewise the DC current experiment, investigation about distribution of AC transport current and field dependence of AC current had been necessary.…”
