Abstract:This paper presents the field computation and the operating characteristics of a series-connected self-excited synchronous generator. Modeling for time-stepping coupled field-circuit analysis is explained. A detailed study on the selfexcitation phenomenon and load performance is presented. The proposed analysis is vigorously tested on a three-phase, 1.8-kW slip-ring induction machine for various operating conditions. The computed results obtained by the FEA are found to be in good agreement with experimental r… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
