Fictionality as a Pragmatic and Referential Category

Abstract: This article proposes an account of fictionality within a Framework of pragmatics and referential semantics, by addressing the prototypical case of Hterary narrative. As a Start, two major conceptualizations will be described, a referenüal one and, respectively, a pragmatic one, and then the role of both pragmatic and referential factors in determining the nature of this category will be assessed.
