Abstract:A new method for installing fiber optic cables in ducts is currently being used utilizing high speed air flow coupled with a low strain pushing force. Developed in Europe, this method has recently undergone testing and trials in the United States using different sized cables and ducts in varied environments. Erratic duct geometries have little influence over this method, and multiple units may be installed in cascade allowing for intallation lengths limited only by cable reel lengths.
