Fiber Concrete on the Basis of Composite Binder and Technogenic Raw Materials

Abstract: In the article the questions of application of the mining waste: dropout of quartzite sandstone crushing as filler in the fibre concrete production were considered. Composite binders based on cement and dropout of quartzite sandstone crushing were also developed. The effectiveness of composite binders’ usage consisting in improving the physical and mechanical characteristics and reduction of their prime cost compared to the cement with a slight increase in the complexity of their production was proved. The com… Show more

“…Several fibre types in concrete manufacturing more excellent resistance to impact, abrasion and destruction. A higher length of steel or synthetic fibres can completely replace reinforcement or steel in certain situations [ 79 ]. Artificial and natural fibres give various concrete properties.…”

“…With superior durability, steel fibre is used in many construction applications. Steel fibre for concrete is a piece of the low-carbon steel wire with a diameter of 0.7–1.2 mm at a length of 25 to 60 mm [ 79 , 98 ]. In section, it can be round or triangular, and in configuration resemble an arc or bracket, or have a wavy shape.…”

“…An effective method is the use for the materials of protective structures a fiber reinforced concrete, which potentially has a high impact resistance (Klyuev et al 2018;Lesovik et al 2018;Urkhanova et al 2018;Fediuk et al 2017Fediuk et al , 2018aFediuk et al , 2018bFediuk et al , 2019Abrishambaf 2017;Yoo 2016).The distribution of stresses in the concrete matrix, provided by the dispersion reinforcement leads, to a certain extent, to the growth of the whole complex of physical and mechanical properties and performance characteristics of the composite: both compressive and tensile strengths, crack resistance, impact endurance (Lesovik et al 2019;Ganesh et al 2018).…”

“…In the case of distributed fibers their distribution in the matrix is more uniformly and short fibers tend to take random orientation. However, even in these systems, fiber distribution is rarely completely uniform, and random fiber orientation is far from ideal [16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23].…”
