The reaction of [Cp+Fe(C0),]2 (Cp+= $-C,Me,Et) with equimolar amounts of As,S, in boiling toluene gives Cp+,Fe,As,S, (1) and Cp:Fe,AszS, (2). Both complexes form with two equivalents of Cr(CO),THF the bisadducts Cp+,Fe,As,S, .2Cr(CO), .2Cr(CO), (41, respectively. The CdCO), fragments are bound to the As atoms. X-ray diffraction analyses have been carried out for 1 and 4. The structure of 1 contains two coplanar q*-ASS bridges which bisect the Fe-Fe vector and afe parallel to the Cpf ligands. Complex 1 is formulated as a 30e tripledecker complex for it contains an As-As distance (2.629(l) A) very close to As-As bonding. The structure of 4 contains a Fe,As$, cage. The inorganic ligand is formally built up by two syn oriented ASS units which are bridged by a S atom. Such a view is supported by the conversion of 1 into 2 by reaction with a mild sulfur donator, e.g. As,S,. ZusammenfassungDie Reaktion von [Cp+Fe(CO),]z (Cp+= $-C,Me,Et) mit iquimolaren Mengen As,S, in siedendem Toluol gibt die Komplexe Cp+,Fe,As,S,(1) und Cp+,Fe,As,S, (2). Diese lassen sich mit zwei Aquivalenten Cr(CO),THF zu den Diaddukten Cp+* Fe,As,S,.2Cr(COj5 (3) bzw. Cp+,Fe,As,S,. 2Cr(CO), (4) umsetzen. Die CI(CO),-Fragmente sind an den As-Atomen gebunden. Von 1 und 4 wurden Rcntgenstrukturanalysen durchgefiihrt. Die Struktur von 1 enthiilt zwei coplanare q2-ASS-B&ken, die den Fe-Fe-Vektor halbieren, und hierzu parallele Cp+-Liganden. 1 wird als 30e-Tripeldeckerkomplex formuliert, da der As-As-Abstand (2.629(l) A) einer As-As-Bindung sehr nahe kommt. Die Struktur von 4 enthiilt einen Fe,As,S,-Klfig. Der anorganische Ligand ist formal aus zwei syn stiindigen ASS-Einheiten aufgebaut, die durch ein S-Atom verbriickt sind. Diese Betrachtungsweise wird gestiitzt durch ijberfiihrung von 1 in 2 mit einem milden Schwefelspender, z. B. As,S,.

A wide range of chemical compounds is spanned by heteroatomic ligands from Group 15/16 elements, which in Nature extend from AsS (in realgar) to [AsS ] (in sulfosalt minerals). The stabilization of labile molecules or those that do not exist in the free state by incorporation into transition metal complexes like [Cp Fe (AsSe) ] (1) and the oligomerization of molecular units under the influence of metal ions or complexes to form solids or hybrid clusters with inorganic cores and peripheral organometallic ligands are the main subjects of this article. The review summarizes the results of the recent author´s research on the synthesis of triple decker complexes with bridging borole ligand. Electrophilic stacking of sandwich compounds with [(ring)M] n+ (n = 1, (ring)M = (C 5 R 5 )Ru, (C 4 Me 4 )Co; n = 2, (ring)M = Cp*Co, Cp*Rh, etc.) cationic fragments were used as a general method of synthesis of the complexes. The influence of the substituent at the boron atom on the course of stacking reactions is discussed. The spectral, structural, and electrochemical properties of the complexes synthesized are also considered.
