Fermion Mass Hierarchies in Singlet-Extended Minimal-Supersymmetric-Standard-Model Quivers

Abstract: In the context of type-IIA orientifold compactifications, we discuss the fermion masses in a two-singlet-extended minimal-supersymmetric-standard-model four-stack quiver with 𝑈 (3) × 𝑆𝑝(1) × 𝑈 (1) × 𝑈 (1) gauge symmetry. The corresponding effective superpotential exhibits hierarchical coupling term scales giving a partial solution to the fermion masses problem. Using the known data with upper bound neutrino masses 𝑚𝜈 𝜏 2 eV, we estimate the relevant scales for the model.

“…Intensive works with orientifold constructions has been recently developed based on intersecting D-branes embedded in superstrings theory [12,13,14,15], where N coincident D-branes typically generate a unitary group U(N ) SU(N ) × U(1) and, hence, every stack of branes supplies (1) arXiv:1612.07639v1 [hep-th] 9 Dec 2016 the model with an extra Abelian factor in the gauge group. Such U(1) fields have generically four-dimensional anomalies which are cancelled via the Green-Schwarz mechanism [16,17].…”

“…Ces champs scalaires supplémentaires S q d'origine géométrique sont bien motivés dans cette direction [20][21][22]. Phénoménologique-ment, une raison pour l'ajout de ces champs est généralement d'affecter certains termes du superpotentiel.…”
