Fermion dynamical symmetry model for the even-even and even-odd nuclei in the Xe-Ba region

Abstract: The even-even and even-odd nuclei 126 Xe-132 Xe and 131 Ba-137 Ba are shown to have a wellrealized SO 8 ⊃ SO 6 ⊃ SO 3 fermion dynamical symmetry. Their low-lying energy levels can be described by a unified analytical expression with two (three) adjustable parameters for even-odd (even-even) nuclei that is derived from the fermion dynamical symmetry model. Analytical expressions are given for wavefunctions and for E2 transition rates that agree well with data. The distinction between the FDSM and IBM SO 6 limit… Show more

“…Though it is not proper to compare the phenomenological Davydov-Filippov (DF) model [3] on a equal footing with the microscopic models viz. IBM and Fermion Dynamical Symmetry Model (FDSM) [24] even than, it is permissible to emphasize the better fit achieved by the DF model over the existing models. …”

“…Finally, Xe isotopes are of considerable interest because they belong to a typical shape transitional region [9], in which there are experimental indications of triaxial deformation in some isotopes [10]. Present theoretical triaxial calculations are mainly based on algebraic models [11]. Nevertheless, in this work we assume axial symmetry.…”

“…In recent years many works have been done on the structure of Xenon isotopes; Kusakari and M. Sugawara (Kusakari & Sugawara, 1984) calculated the energy levels, the back-bending in the yrast bands , reduced transition probabilities for the positive-parity states of [122][123][124][125][126][127][128][129][130] Xe within the framework of the interacting boson model. Xing-Wang Pan et al (Pan et al, 1996) and Al-Jubbori (Al-Jubbori et al, 2016) described the low-lying energy levels for even-even and even-odd nuclei [126][127][128][129][130][131][132] Ba by a unified analytical expression with two (three) adjustable parameters of the fermion model. Wang Bao-lin (Bao-lin, 1997) calculated the triaxial deformation parameters β and γ in the O(6)-like nuclei by comparing quadrupole moments between the interacting boson model IBM and the collective model studied.…”
