“…The sexual behaviors chosen are likely to demonstrate parallels to normal sexual behavior such as kissing and reciprocal sexual acts, suggesting individuals are compensating for a lack of social contact (Almond et al, 2014). An Involvement theme is regularly found in previous literature (Almond et al, 2014;Almond, McManus, Giles, & Houston, 2017), supporting the assumption that a similar theme was likely to be identified in the present study.…”

“…This procedure offers a global vision of the relationships between all of the variables which permits analysis and interpretation of the psychological processes underlying the homicide ( Salfati and Canter, 1999 ; Groenen and Borg, 2014 ). The Jaccard similarity coefficient was used to calculate the association between the variables, since it is the most appropriate for the treatment of data from police sources ( Ioannou et al, 2015 ; Almond et al, 2017b ; Hempenstall and Hammond, 2018 ). Below, the goodness of fit was assessed for the model using Kruskal’s Stress -I and the R 2 coefficient of determination.…”

“…The The method of data collection employed is similar to that conducted in several other recent studies into CSA perpetrated by teachers using publicly available data (Darling, 2018;Jaffe et al, 2013;Mototsune, 2015;Moulden, Firestone, Kingston, & Wexler, 2010). These published decisions are subject to stringent legal scrutiny during the professional conduct procedures, enhancing their validity and reliability and making them arguably more accurate than police reports (Almond, McManus, Giles, & Houston, 2015;Porter & Alison, 2004, 2006).…”
